Then this may be just the programme for you.
WHAT IS THE MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION (M.B.S.R) PROGRAMME?
🔹 The negative effects of chronic stress and their impact on the quality of our lives is well documented. Unchecked, our physical responses to stress can lead to poor health, and yet can often go unnoticed until symptoms or situations bring them to the forefront.
🔹 Developed in 1979 by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, M.B.S.R is a non-religious, group health intervention that uses mindfulness and mindfulness meditation to help individuals cope more effectively with chronic stress, pain, anxiety, depression, and/or illness.
🔹 Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. Mindfulness is a skill that anyone can learn - although it does take practice, and may not be right for everyone.
🔹 Since 1979 this groundbreaking, scientifically validated, stress management programme has been taught to more than 25,000 people in hospitals, clinics, workplaces, and schools around the world.
WHO IS IT FOR?
🔹 M.B.S.R is the most trusted, researched, and established mindfulness program available. This programme is ideal if you'd like to learn how to:
- Reduce the effects of stress on your mind and body
- Learn how to communicate more calmly
- Get better at managing difficult emotions like anger, fear, and anxiety
- Stop worrying so much and start being more present in your life
- Be more focused and work more efficiently
- Get better at switching off and stopping the mind chatter
🔹 No prior meditation experience is necessary. You must be at least 17 years old to participate in this online M.B.S.R course.
BENEFITS OF THE M.B.S.R. PROGRAMME
The 8-Week programme has been subject to numerous scientific studies and clinical trials over the past 30+ years and is widely considered to be the international gold standard in mindfulness training.
Graduates of the M.B.S.R. programme report:
✔️ Reduced physical and mental symptoms of chronic stress, anxiety, depression, and pain
✔️ Acceleration of post-surgery recovery
✔️ Bolstered immune system
✔️ Improved social and emotional intelligence
✔️ Improved empathy
✔️ Improved self-esteem and enthusiasm for life
WORKSHOP FORMAT
🔹 Conducted live and online via Zoom. M.B.S.R relies heavily on participant practice and takes place over 8-weeks.
🔹 Each session is between 2 - 2.5 hours long and requires 45 minutes of daily mindfulness meditation practice in between sessions. For best results, participants must commit to attending all 8 sessions, practice in-between sessions, and attend an all-day silent retreat.
🔹 During training, participants will utilise mindfulness meditation, simple and gentle body movement, and group discussion of experience to acquire skills of mindful awareness. Daily home practice will help to integrate this awareness into the challenges and adventures of everyday life
